Conferring with Arthur, I chose six of his short stories to create
Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime. I developed each novel to evolve the storyline—Breaking Strain, Maelstrom, Hide and Seek, The Medusa Encounter, The Diamond Moon, The Shining Ones.
The series begins with a young woman who calls herself Sparta, named after the bioengineering program that generated her extraordinary abilities. But her memory has been erased. As she remembers bits of her past, Sparta escapes imprisonment and begins a journey to every inhabited planet and moon in the solar system, searching for the history
of her creation.
